Focused Law Enforcement

Focused Law Enforcement targets high-risk offenders and crime hot spots through the strategic use of police resources and partnerships with federal law enforcement, regulatory agencies, and criminal justice partners. Police reduce crime while keeping residents informed about planned enforcement efforts.

For example, to reduce underage drinking, police have teamed up with the Alcohol Beverage Control Board. Together, ABC investigators and police officers conduct undercover operations in bars that serve alcohol to underage youth.

Police make arrests and support the ABC Board's authority to suspend the liquor license of offenders by gathering intelligence, providing documentation, and testifying at hearings. Residents keep police informed about activities that cause fear and harm in the community and about specific crimes and suspects. Police keep residents updated on any planned operations and other focused law enforcement strategies without compromising the security of their operations.
